God
God is an uncreated Spirit who is the creator and Ruler of the universe. He has always existed in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. All three are co-equal and constitute one God.
Jesus Christ
Jesus is the Christ the Son of God and co-equal with the Father. We believe that Jesus took on flesh, was born of a virgin, and was fully God and fully human at the same time. We believe He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for everyone’s sins by dying on a cross. We believe He rose from the dead three days later and demonstrated His power over sin and death. He is the head of the church and the only way to God and eternal life. He has gone back to heaven, and will return to earth as King of kings and Lord of lords.
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He is present in the world to make people aware of their need for God. He also lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides us with power for living, understanding truth, and guidance.
Hearing from God
The Bible is God’s message to all people and it was written by human authors under the guidance, or inspiration, of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian belief and life. We believe that God speaks through prayer, circumstances, His church and the Holy Spirit, but these will never contradict the truth already communicated in the Bible.
Human Beings
Humans were made in the spiritual image of God and share many of His attributes. We were created to enjoy intimate fellowship with God. Even though we have tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin. Sin separates us from God. We can only reach our highest potential by being reconciled to God.
Salvation
Salvation is being right with God. It means having your sins forgiven rather than punished. It means that God’s Spirit lives within you and helps you to become what God desires you to be. It means enjoying a relationship with god here on earth and for eternity in Heaven. Salvation can’t be earned, but is a free gift available to everyone who will put his or her faith in God and accept Jesus as Savior and Lord.
Living as a Christian
God desires for us to have the best life possible and the Christian life is it! Once we become Christians we begin a life of growing in intimacy with God and His people and we begin the process of becoming more like Christ. For that to happen we need God’s power working in our life and we depend on Him daily to enable us to do what is right.
The Church
The church is a divinely instituted Body that has been given the mission of pursuing God’s purposes on earth. Each local church is God’s primary means of bringing His people to spiritual maturity and equipping them for ministry to others. We are striving to be like the church found in the Bible – where there is relevant teaching, authentic worship, honest relationships, constant prayer, care for others and a commitment to the mission of the church.
The Mission of the Church
Jesus is the light of the world and as people who have experience that light we have been commanded not to keep it to ourselves. It is the responsibility of the church and of every Christian to share the hope we have and the truth we’ve found.
Eternal Things
People were created by God to exist forever. We will exist eternally separated from God by sin, or eternally with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally connected to God is Heaven.
